Dubai: A drone strike was reported near the US Consulate in Dubai. The resulting fire was extinguished by authorities, the Dubai Media Office said. No injuries have been reported in the incident.

The statement added that emergency response teams reacted immediately to the situation and that the fire was completely put out. Dubai authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of everyone.

Quoting a US official and the Dubai government’s media office, The Wall Street Journal reported that a drone struck the parking lot of the consulate in Dubai. Videos circulating on social media showed black smoke rising near the consulate.

According to The New York Times, Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported that an Iranian drone had struck the US Consulate in Dubai.

On Monday, two drones targeted the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, causing a minor fire and limited damage to the building, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said.

The embassy advised Americans in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dhahran to remain in place.

On Tuesday, the US Embassy in Kuwait also announced that it would remain closed until further notice. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the State Department is working to assist Americans in the Middle East to leave the region.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, DC, he said efforts are underway to arrange charter flights, military flight options, and larger commercial aircraft with increased seating capacity in coordination with airline companies.
